I'm a math teacher in an urban high school and community college; I have so far managed to negotiate those dangerous waters.
I have a bachelor's degree in physics, with a minor in philosophy. I have a master's degree in college student personnel, and a master's degree in education. I'm working on my third master's degree in math, in an attempt to turn that into a doctorate.
In 2007 I published a book entitled Happily Godless: A Young Adult's Guide to Atheism.
My main interests are religion/philosophy, math/science, technology, and education.
I live in Kansas City, KS, and am right in the middle of the launch of Google Fiber.
From 2002 - 2004 I was employed at the National Conference for Community and Justice to design programs to help LGBT youth. I also helped design and implement various social justice/diversity trainings for high school youth.
My hobby/addiction is film, and since 1998 I've been a part-time freelance movie/theater critic for various LGBT publications - currently Camp Magazine.
